Discover Ski Mountaineering with an introductory day designed also for those with no experience in this discipline on the magnificent routes of the Altopiano della Paganella in Trentino.
Accompanied by a Alpine Guide we will discover Ski Mountaineering techniques on easy uphill routes and downhill on groomed trails or forest roads. We will discover how to ascend with skins, the principles of snow science, learning how to identify the safest tracks and possible dangers to watch out for, and important self-rescue lessons (the use of Arva, shovel and probe).
The activity takes place in a free environment with a breathtaking panorama where the spires of the Brenta Dolomites are the dominant feature.
What we will do
The meeting point is set in the morning at Andalo in the province of Trento where the group, consisting of a minimum of one to a maximum of six participants, will meet with the Alpine Guide who will accompany you throughout the day.
From this point, you can choose from numerous itineraries and the Guide will identify the best one depending on the weather conditions and the level of the participants. Some examples are the ascents to Cima Paganella, Cima Canfedin and Cima Croz dell'Altissimo, all of which are easy routes suitable for beginners and equally satisfying from a naturalistic point of view.
Whichever route you choose, the excursion involves a difference in height of between 600 and 800 metres. After the ascent with the skins, we will descend by carefully choosing the best route, always accompanied by the mountain guide, until we return to the starting point
The activity concludes around mid-afternoon.
.Who it is aimed at
For the ascent, an endurance capacity of 600/800 metres is required. For the descent, it is sufficient to be able to advance nimbly in a snowplough.

Caution! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
The activity is bookable from January to May - depending on seasonal weather conditions - and is for private groups of 1 to 6 participants.
Those who do not have the technical equipment (skis and skins) and the obligatory safety kit (Arva, shovel and probe) can hire them on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
