Hydrospeed Classic in Valsesia

Take on one of the most exhilarating stretches of the Sesia, armed with a wetsuit, fins and a river bobber, descend through its famous rapids: you will be immersed in breathtaking landscapes for a half-day of fun!

The Sesia offers all the necessary elements for a thrilling hydrospeed experience: clear water, picturesque landscapes and foaming but non-dangerous rapids.

We provide all the technical equipment to guarantee a perfect thermal seal, all you have to do is bring plenty of enthusiasm! You descend in groups of a maximum of six people plus the guide, who explains the basic manoeuvres before setting off. The Monrosa Centre Guides are qualified for hydrospeed by Firaft.

What we will do

On reaching the meeting point, we will provide you with all the equipment and you will be dressed, wearing a wetsuit, waterproof jacket, helmet and fins.

Before the actual descent, the guide will give a theoretical-practical lesson first on dry water and then in calm water, so that all participants will know how to tackle the Hydrospeed descent in complete safety.

We will launch into the stretch of river that has become famous for rafting descents. Depending on the flow of the river, the guide will decide on the best route, which could be from Balmuccia to Vocca or from Vocca to Varallo, with a multitude of rapids with evocative names (shear, drunk, igloo, etc.) that will satisfy everyone, beginners and experts alike.

When we reach the final point of the descent, we will take the minibus back to the centre for a hot shower. The activity, including transport, dressing and theory lesson, will take 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

To participate, you do not need to have any special skills, you only need to be in good physical condition, have sufficient swimming ability, have no psychophysical contraindications to the sport and abide by the Centre's regulations, which must be signed for acceptance.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible person.

Other information

This activity can be carried out from April to September. Like all river activities, hydrospeed is subject to the hydrometric conditions of the river and therefore the descent will only be confirmed if the water flow is adequate for the activity to be carried out safely.

The Monrosa Centre is recognised by the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft) and only qualified guides operate in the Centre. We are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that can easily accommodate very large groups.

The fees include lessons with the instructor/guide, transfers in Valsesia with the Centre's vehicles, R.C. insurance,

The fees include the use of the equipment and the hire of technical clothing.

Important: you must arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the chosen time of the activity.

In compliance with the provisions for the containment of Covid-19 infection, the minibus may carry a maximum of 5 people plus the driver, in order to guarantee the necessary distance.

The minibus is equipped with a safety net for the driver and the instructor.
