Discover a different Rome, far from the most touristy places. Immerse yourself in its most authentic nature and its thousand-year history with a kayak tour on Lake Castel Gandolfo. Take a step back in time, among the secrets of popes and emperors, and combine sport and the pleasure of discovery to perfection.
In the company of expert guides from the area, you will visit fascinating sites and enjoy the peace and relax of the lake's waters, reaching some hidden spots, accessible only by kayak.
You will retrace step by step an evocative itinerary, which has literally made those who have taken it for the first time fall in love with it and we are sure it will amaze you too. It will be a real eye-opener!
.What we will do
We will meet directly on the Lake of Castel Gandolfo, on the beach in front of the Saroli Tennis Club. Here the guides will provide us with the equipment and give us a theoretical and practical lesson on the use of the kayak and paddling techniques.
When we are ready, we will begin our tour on the water. The guides will tell us the history of Lake Albano (known as Lake Castel Gandolfo) and show us some points of special interest: the submerged pile dwellings of the Villaggio dei Mulini, the port of Emperor Domitian's villa, from which the ancient Romans watched the spectacle of naval battles, the houses of some heritage, the summer residence of the Pope and the springboard from which the ancient popes loved to dive into the water.
In warmer times, we will reach a slope accessible only by kayak and stop for a relaxing bath in the polluted waters of the lake. In total, the experience will last 3 hours.

This activity is at aneasy level and is suitable for everyone from 6 years old upwards. No previous kayaking experience is required.

Warning! Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the start time of the activity.
The activity takes place all year round in the morning, with the possibility of an afternoon tour from April to October.
Valuables can be kept by the guides. The kayaks are equipped with watertight bags for carrying smartphones and other items during the tour.
For those who do not wish to or cannot travel by car, a free transfer from/to Metro Anagnina in Rome is available (to be requested directly from the guide after booking).

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
