Water bike ride on the Bay of Naples

The city of Naples never ceases to amaze. Its spectacle of history, culture, customs, art and architecture is now enriched by a new way to enjoy its splendid sights: the water bike.

The water bike, or water bike, is a practical and fun way toride along the sea. Instead of wheels, the frame rests on two floats that allow you to pedal on the water without getting wet.

A water bike ride will allow you to admire Naples from the sea. With the Vesuvius dominating the gulf in the background, we will ride along the coast of Posillipo, past luxurious villas, caves,fishing villages and nature reserves. It will be an experience not to be missed!

What we will do

We will meet at the Monumental Palazzo Donn'Anna, one of the most famous buildings in the Quartiere di Posillipo. Starting from the adjacent grottoes, we will move along the most picturesque stretch of coastline in Naples, admiring the luxurious villas that host footballers during their stay in the city, as well as Villa Rosebery, the summer residence of the President of the Republic.

We will then arrive at the Rocce Verdi, an enchanting bay in the heart of Posillipo, between the presidential villa and the borgo di Marechiaro, a place with a poetic atmosphere suspended in time. If it is a beautiful, sunny day, we can stop here for a swim.

If we are still not tired, we can continue on to the Gaiola Natural Reserve, a magnificent submerged park characterised by the fusion of volcanological, archaeological and biological elements. On the seabed of the park, in fact, it is possible to observe the remains of ports, nymphaea and fishponds that are currently submerged due to the slow sinking of the earth's crust (bradyseism).

Even here we could stop for a refreshing dip in the Trentaremi caves, close to the mythical Villa Imperiale di Pausilypon, with the view of the islet ofNisida, currently used as a juvenile prison and military air.

The activity lasts from 2 to 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level. Water biking requires no special physical ability, but it is advisable to be able to swim. It is not suitable for pregnant women, people weighing over 120 kg and those who do not have mobility in their lower limbs. Children aged 8 years and up will be provided with a bike, those younger than this will travel free on the parent's bike.

Other information

The activity can be booked all year round. A few days before the excursion, the organiser will send you confirmation of the exact time depending on the weather conditions.

After booking, you must inform the organiser if there are any children present. Please remember that under 7 years old will travel free of charge and you do not have to count them in your booking.
